This Privacy Policy explains how China Fine Goods (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with the China Fine Goods YouTube Uploader (the “Application”), an internal tool that publishes our own product videos to our own YouTube channel, “China Fine Goods”, through the YouTube Data API v3.

Summary

  • Accessed: only our own YouTube channel's OAuth token, channel ID and name, and the IDs of videos we upload. No other Google data.
  • Used for: uploading and scheduling our own videos on our own channel.
  • Shared with: nobody. Data goes only to Google's YouTube Data API, as required to publish the video.
  • Protected by: HTTPS/TLS in transit, restricted file permissions (0600) and server access controls at rest.
  • Retained: token until access is revoked; upload logs for 90 days; then deleted.

1. Scope

The Application is used only by China Fine Goods staff, on a single YouTube channel owned by us. It has no public registration, no customer accounts and no end users outside our organisation. It does not collect personal information from viewers, customers or visitors of our website.

2. Information we access through Google APIs

After the channel owner grants consent through Google OAuth 2.0, the Application receives:

  • An OAuth 2.0 access token and refresh token for the scopes https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.
  • Basic channel information for our own channel only (channel ID, channel name), used to confirm that uploads are going to the correct channel.
  • Identifiers of the videos we upload (video ID, processing status), used to report the result of each upload.

The Application does not access Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts, Google Analytics, or any other Google service. It does not read viewer data, subscriber lists, comments, watch history, or any data belonging to other channels or other users.

3. How we use the information

  • To authenticate our own channel and to upload our own video files to it.
  • To set video metadata (title, description, tags, thumbnail, privacy status, scheduled publish time).
  • To display upload results to our staff (video ID, link, processing status).

We do not use Google user data for advertising, profiling, credit assessment, or any purpose unrelated to uploading our own videos. We do not sell it and we do not use it to train, fine-tune or improve machine-learning models.

4. Storage and security

OAuth tokens are stored on a server controlled by us, in a file readable only by the Application's operating-system account (file permissions 0600). All communication with Google APIs is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS 1.2 or above. The server is protected by a host firewall, operating-system access controls and a restricted set of authorised administrators; tokens are never embedded in client-side code, e-mail or logs. Video files remain our own property and are stored on the same server only for as long as needed to complete an upload.

5. Sharing

We do not share, transfer or disclose Google user data to third parties, except where required by law. We do not sell Google user data and we do not transfer it to advertisers, data brokers or analytics providers. The only external service the Application sends data to is the YouTube Data API operated by Google, for the sole purpose of publishing our own videos. Google's handling of that data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Retention and deletion

Retention periods: OAuth tokens are retained until the channel owner revokes access or the Application is retired; upload records (video ID, timestamp, status) are retained for 90 days; temporary upload session files are deleted as soon as the upload finishes or is abandoned.

Deletion: the channel owner can revoke access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions, which immediately invalidates the token; the stored token is then deleted from our server. Uploaded videos can be deleted at any time from YouTube Studio or through the Application. To request deletion of any data we hold, write to service@chinafinegoods.com and we will delete it within 30 days and confirm by e-mail.

7. Google API Services User Data Policy

China Fine Goods' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalised or non-personalised AI or machine-learning models.

8. Children

The Application is a staff tool and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy if the Application changes. The “Last updated” date above will be revised and the current version will always be available at this URL.
